This Smith's knife sharpener will be perfect for restoring the sharpness to a slightly dull blade.
This tool is made up of 2 sides: 1 side with 2 tungsten bars (grey), 1 side with 2 ceramic bars (white).
The "tungsten" side is to be used first to rectify previous sharpenings, and restore the sharpness to your edge. It will allow you to have an identical cutting angle on both sides.
By placing the Smith's knife sharpener on a flat surface (such as a kitchen table) and "pulling" only the knife towards you, make multiple passes.
The sharpener has a non-slip rubber base.
You will remove tiny metal dust, which means that you are restoring the correct angle to your blade.
Positive point: you only touch the edge of the blade, so you do not damage it on the sides and you avoid stone marks, scratches and other impacts on the blade.
Once your blade no longer "grabs" on the Smith's sharpener (still on the tungsten side), switch your sharpener so that the ceramic side is facing upwards.
Repeat the manipulation, you are now working to refine the sharpening: the ceramic side will act as a polishing of the knife's edge.
After a few passes, be careful with your fingers, the knife should be very... sharp.
After use, when the knife cuts a little less well, repeat the operation!
Very often, the ceramic side pass is enough.
Essential in a kitchen, not suitable for a serrated blade
